Using this website
This page deals with questions about the various "operating aspects" of this website that might be confusing, such as reserving a hotel room, registering your quartet, AETs, photos, program advertising. If you can't find what you need, try the SEARCH box to find all references to a topic as well.
Do competing quartets and choruses still register with (and pay!) International?
Absolutely! The path to competition for a chorus or quartet begins by registering with International. Please do that before you proceed to registering your quartet or chorus with the region on this site.
What if my chorus or quartet wants to do video evaluation...do I still have to register with SAI?
Yup! Video evaluations are basically the same as "in person" competition, except the group in question doesn't have to be in Spokane. For more information on video evaluations, click here.
Do I reserve my hotel room through my chapter?
No, all convention attendees (competing, non-competing, quartet, chorus, CAL, or non-member) staying in the regional block of rooms will reserve hotel rooms individually (or a "room captain" may register for those staying in her room).
What if I don't want to stay in the regional hotels?
Region 13 has contracted with two hotels: DoubleTree and The Centennial. By guaranteeing we will fill the rooms we committed to when the contract was signed, the hotels provide rehearsal and meeting spaces for us to use during the weekend, without charging us a room rental fee. These rooms are where we have region-wide activities, such as the education class, Kickoff, Afterglow, and other region-wide offerings. In order to meet those room night numbers, we expect our members to make their reservations in one of our two hotels. When attendees choose not to stay at the DoubleTree or Centennial, our room count falls short and we face significant financial penalties. Such was the case in 2019, when the Region faced a $13,000 penalty for not meeting our 2019 room block at The Centennial; a problem which ultimately required us to raise convention fees for this year's contest. For this reason, we STRONGLY encourage attendees to stay at one of our two convention partner hotels.
Do I order my AET through my chapter?
Yes, chapters will collect forms and payments from their members, then submit ONE order for AETs though this site. Watch for details from your chapter's convention chair.
CAL members are welcome to order All Events Ticket through a chorus with whom they are affiliated, whether that's with close friends, a quartet, or other association. Alternatively, you may choose to register and order your All Events Ticket through our CAL coordinator, Andren Moyer. Please contact Andren directly at andrenmoyer@gmail.com to place your order.
